The Long Road Home begins with one step
An assumption that the newsletter by e-mail arrived at a normal December morning just three years ago, was the sort of thing Alan Kline and Corinna would normally be to digitize and throw away. But this time, Corinna eyes fixed on 13 black and white snapshots of young orphans from other countries, apartments.
Prayerfully”Pourriez you ask God, if one of these children to find you?”The subtitle asked, as the photo of a little girl Corinna snagged’s attention.
No, the child can not look at me, thought Corinna, the mother of three healthy children, the youngest of them was 41 / 2 months.
The adoption does not seem feasible. Still, she thought, nobody should be homeless at Christmas. So she asked God to watch over young faces in the newsletter.
Corinna looked later in the brochure so far, and still face in the lower left corner to catch their attention. The child wispy dark hair with big eyes and looked directly at them.
In this night, Corinna Alan hands of the newsletter. It does not mention the girl. The couple had discussed adoption, but on this night Corinna did not want the thoughts of her husband in the head.
After reading the brochure, Alan approached his wife.
Perhaps this is”,”, he said that his finger on the photo of the same girl.
Three years of turbulence and nerves have passed since the cold winter, when the devoutly religious couple, driven by faith and strengthened by the hope to receive the newsletter and to tackle a mission of charity.
Today, the feast Klines with the heart, both difficult and feel blessed.
It is, they say, a Long Road Home.
Corinna and Alan, now both 31, met 13 years ago during an evening during their Freshman Year in Lehigh Carbon Community College. He studied liberal arts, she, psychology and education.
Both grew up in the Lehigh Valley in families, which meant an hour on Sunday in a church pew. The two dreamed of marriage, children and more and more of their faith. Both wanted a family, which contains biological and adopted children.
”We knew we had enough love to go around,’’said Alan, and added that the couple liked the idea of child care for those most in need.
In 1993, she was married. Two years later, Corinna, had, went to school and worked in a bank, birth to a daughter, Michaelah. Alan went to teach at Bethlehem Area School District, Corinna was a full-time mother.
They had a son, Andrew, in the years 1998 and another son, Aaron, in 2000. They lived in Alans salary and made plans for Corinna School for children in their modest home of Bethlehem line.
With three children under 6 years, a restless Budget and Finance strained, adoption seemed further. But the thought was always there, and if girls in the newsletter captured their attention, the couple began to wonder if the time had come.
In the evening, after the pamphlet arrived, Corinna called Oregon believe that the Agency sent. Grüßte by an answering machine, she left his name and number Hung up, and said a short prayer.
