Oregon AG creates new crime victims services division
The Oregon attorney general’s office has created a whole new division for crime victims.
Oregon Attorney General Hardy Myers says it was time for the state to raise its service level for crime victims, and for organizations that serve victims.
The attorney general’s office has been administering the state Crime Victims’ Compensation Program since it was enacted by the 1977 Legislature.
The program has provided benefits to thousands of victims over the past 30 years. But the creation of the new division will expand those services.
