Kulongoski willing to sue if LNG ports not good for Oregon

EUGENE, Ore.. (AP) - Gov. Ted Kulongoski said Monday it is prepared to go to court to ensure that all the liquefied natural gas scheduled for the necessary facilities Oregon, and a safe.

Kulongoski, was a response to a letter from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission concerning questioned proposals to build facilities at the mouth of the Columbia River and Coos Bay unloading of LNG and feed the pipeline serving the West Coast.

While I do not want to go to court to protect the interests of Oregon and the citizens of this state, I will seek, if necessary, the Attorney General, are resorting to litigation. ”

LNG proposals have stirred controversy in Oregon, Welcoming employment and taxes they generate, and other residents disdaining the potential effects on the environment and the use highly probable domain to take land farming, vineyards and forests for hundreds of miles of pipeline.

Energy companies have proposed three buildings of LNG terminals in the state of a Coos Bay and two on the Columbia River.
